Dr. Denis Simons - Chiropractor, Clinic Director DC, BSc.
Dr. Denis Simons graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon in March of 2000, where he received several awards of distinction. Dr. Simons moved to Calgary in the spring of 2000. He owned and operated Penny Lane Chiropractic and Health in the downtown core from 2001 until 2006, when he joined the Advantage Health group of clinics. An avid and once competitive skier, Dr. Simons spent many years as a volunteer on the Lake Louise Ski Patrol and competed in several Big Mountain Competitions. For several years he enjoyed the opportunity to work and travel with the Canadian National Snowboarding team, treating several Olympic medalists along the way. His reputation consistently has travelling musicians and athletes requesting treatments as their travels bring them through Calgary. Dr. Simons continually attends seminars and courses to make sure he has the most current and relevant information and techniques. Carlee Anderson - Physiotherapist PT, MScPT, BKin, BDN
Carlee is a graduate with a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta in 2015 and has also completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary in 2012. She is a CPA Orthopedic Level III Manual Therapist who is certified in Biomedical Dry Needling. She is also experienced with athletic taping/strapping and Kinesiotaping. Her clinical interests include SI joint dysfunction, acute low back pain, neck pain, TMJD, craniovertebral dysfunction and shoulder injuries. Growing up in Champion, AB, Carlee was involved in several sports at competitive and recreational levels as both an athlete and a coach. She is most passionate and experienced with figure skating, equestrian, volleyball and softball. She also has an avid interest in fitness and nutrition which keeps her committed to living her best and healthiest life. She looks forward to continuing to complete the CPA Orthopedic levels as well as becoming certified as a Sports Therapist. Marie-Pier Begot Coladon - Physiotherapist PT, MHScPT, BSc., IMS Certified, Bilingual (Francais, English)
Marie-Pier is originally from Trois-Rivières, Québec. She moved to Alberta at a young age, allowing her to learn both English and French. She graduated from the bilingual University of Ottawa with a Master of Health Sciences in Physiotherapy, after completing her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at the Faculté Saint-Jean of the University of Alberta. As part of her graduate degree, she has completed her Sport First Responder certification as well as Part A of the McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy method, which aims at addressing low back injuries, presenting with or without associated lower extremity pain. This assessment and treatment technique uses specific movements and encourages patient engagement to promote better outcomes. Marie-Pier is currently undertaking her Orthopaedic Level Manual Therapy courses through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopaedic Division to help enrich her clinical approach and is looking to add dry needling to her skillset later this year. She has gained clinical proficiency working with shoulder, low back, and knee injuries, with a particular interest in rotator cuff related injuries. Having played competitive female ice hockey herself growing up, she is also passionate about guiding both recreational and competitive athletes as they safely return to sport.
As part of her treatments, Marie-Pier believes in the use of a comprehensive approach by complementing any manual therapy with personalized exercises and strategies to help her patients achieved the promptest recovery. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending quality time with loved ones, caring for her two adorable bunnies and staying active through outdoor jogging, hiking, skating and downhill skiing.
Jenna Aiuto - Pelvic Health Physiotherapist PT, MScPT, BKin, FDN, Spinal Manipulation
Jenna graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in 2014. She then went on to complete her Masters in Physiotherapy in 2016 from Glasgow Caledonian University. During her education, Jenna gained valuable knowledge and practical experience working with patients suffering from pelvic floor dysfunction. She worked on the maternity ward directly with new moms and taught pre- and post-natal pelvic health seminars. Jenna completed her thesis on 'The Effectiveness of Pelvic Floor Muscle Training for the treatment of Urinary Incontinence in Post-natal Women'. This research led her to pursue a specialty in Women's health to treat patients with incontinence, diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, overactive bladder, lumbopelvic pain and dyspareunia. In addition, Jenna has a passion for treating all musculoskeletal injuries and is certified in Functional Dry Needling and Spinal Manipulation. In her spare time, Jenna enjoys travelling, hiking, playing badminton, pickleball and soccer!
Shaun Macauley - Physiotherapist PT, BMRPT, CAFCI, CGIMS
Shaun received his Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Physiotherapy from the University of Manitoba. Shaun is fortunate to have worked across a broad range of rehabilitation spanning from providing injury prevention lectures to youth athletics, injury management for numerous sporting events, to the treatment of chronic back pain. Shaun passionately directs his time to improving patient care collaboration not only within the Momentum and Evidence Models, but also across our public and private healthcare systems. Shaun also enjoys mentoring recently graduated Physiotherapists & Kinesiologists. Shaun has completed his designations in Spinal & Peripheral manipulation, Diagnostic Imaging, Acupuncture, and Intramuscular Stimulation including Gunn IMS. Shaun maintains a clinical caseload welcoming patients at various Momentum Health locations.
Tammy Kwan - Physiotherapist (Coverage) PT
Tammy Kwan is a physiotherapist at Momentum Health. Tammy recently sold her activewear business and has returned to her physiotherapy profession as an intern after several years of raising her family and running her business. Tammy graduated from the University of Alberta and has 15 years of previous clinical orthopaedic experience. Her focus has been on manual therapy and needling to assist clients return back to their daily activities and enjoying their sports. She believes that treatment should consist of a combination of manual therapy to help clients reduce their pain and patient exercise, stretching and education.
She attained certifications for manipulations (Part B Manual Therapist), IMS (Dry Needling) and Acupuncture before her "break" from physiotherapy. She is working towards reinstating those restricted activities with the support of the great team at Momentum Health over the next year. Her strengths include helping patients progress and decrease their pain and improve body mechanics. When patients invest their time and energy with Tammy to get themselves better, she sees it as a privilege and that makes her happy.
Tammy is a Calgarian raising her four kids. She enjoys playing squash, badminton, golf and the piano. She would love to get any tips on her game (all of them) and how to deal with four teenagers. Tammy looks forward to meeting all of you.

Sean Sloan - Physiotherapist (Coverage) BSc., BScPT, CmedAcc, GTT practitioner
Sean attained his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 2001 and over his 20 years of clinical practice has worked in a variety of settings. His experiences as a physio have included working for the Canadian military, working in multidisciplinary chronic pain clinics, sports and orthopedic settings as well as supporting multiple collegiate and junior sports teams. He previously owned his own practice in Northwestern Ontario which included contracted home care work, pediatric school support programing, neurodevelopmental pediatric work and an orthopedic caseload. In 2017 he returned to Alberta to be closer to family and the ski hills. Areas of clinical interest include assisting patients with complex and chronic musculoskeletal conditions managed through manual therapy, dry needling, patient education and progressive exercise as well as providing pediatric care for Developmental Coordination Disorder. He has a strong passion for teaching and is an active Physio student preceptor and mentor to newer therapists.
Dr. Chelsey Fricker - Chiropractor DC, BSc.Kin
Dr. Chelsey is a Calgary native who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, and a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine from Palmer College West. She is trained and certified in myofascial release technique, Graston, usage of kinesiology tape, and will be licenced in medical acupuncture in 2020. She has been in practice for over 4 years and specializes in sports related injuries and pathologies. Dr. Chelsey is passionate about getting people back to a pain free state and back to doing what they love. She is highly effective in quickly diagnosing and treating a broad range of commonly seen musculoskeletal disorders and pathologies. Carrie Slater - Registered Massage Therapist RMT
Carrie has been practicing massage therapy since 2003. Her passion and excitement for massage continues to grow and evolve. She has developed unique techniques and applications of Therapeutic Massage called Reciprocal Response Massage. This is a technical and therapeutic massage that is based on her philosophy that it doesn’t have to hurt to work! Achieving the results and benefits of a therapeutic massage without pain is the main goal of Carrie’s treatment plan. Having been involved in the O&G sector for over three decades, AK followed her passion in exploring her healing gifts by taking the massage therapy program. Upon the acquisition of the ’2200 Hrs Massage Therapy Diploma’, she is set with the intent to help clients not just ease stress, but recover from muscoskeletal injuries while creating a sustainable wellness life style. With the knowledge and passion for different specialties, including cupping therapy, trigger point therapy, Swedish massage, and stretching techniques, AK is quite intuitive, with her healing hands she is able to provide comfort while adjusting to clients needs. Sergei Nor - Registered Massage Therapist/Registered Acupuncturist
Sergei Nor is a Registered Massage Therapist with the Massage Therapy Association of Alberta. He graduated from the 2200 hour program at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Toronto. Since graduating, Sergei has been successfully providing various types of Massage treatments to a wide variety of patients. His scope of practice includes Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage, Active Release Therapy (Upper Extremities Certified), Joint Play and PNF stretching.
Sergei is also a Registered Acupuncturist. He graduated from the Calgary College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in 2016. He combines his knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and Massage to achieve the maximum health benefits possible for his patients.
Sergei is coming from a competitive Free Style and Judo wrestling background and has extensive experience in working with and providing massage treatments to professional athletes.
Carlos Guzman - Registered Massage Therapist RMT
Carlos Guzman has been a registered massage therapist with the Massage Therapist Association of Alberta (MTAA) since 2013 after graduating from CDI college with a diploma that included 2200-hours training. Carlos enjoys helping his clients to feel better by releasing their muscle tension, improving their posture and assisting them in recovering from injuries such as sprains, strains and whiplash. He has also been privileged to assist athletes in preparing for competitions such as races, marathons and team sports.
Carlos specializes in deep tissue massage using different techniques such as ischemic compression, trigger point and acupressure, allowing him to design a tailored treatment program for acute and chronic pain. Devon Dupuis - Kinesiologist BSc.Kin
Devon is originally from Vancouver, BC where she graduated with a Diploma in Sport Science, specializing in Kinesiology. She then completed her Bachelor’s of Science, majoring in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University. While studying in Nova Scotia, she volunteered as a varsity student trainer, as well as worked for a private clinic as a physiotherapy assistant, where she gained hands on experience in helping develop rehabilitation programs and using modalities to help in injury prevention and recovery. In her spare time, Devon can be found travelling, dancing or enjoying the Canadian Rockies.
Eva Olafson - Kinesiologist BSc Kin
Eva graduated from the University of Calgary in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science (with distinction) majoring in Kinesiology. Growing up in Calgary, Eva spent a lot of time on the slopes which eventually lead to her competing as a high-performance alpine ski racing career. After a couple of knee surgeries and university calling, it was time to pack it in. She continued her passion for the sport as a coach for several years and enjoys working with and mentoring young athletes. After graduation, Eva worked for a private clinic as a physiotherapy assistant where she helped patients through their rehabilitation journey. In her free time Eva enjoys travelling, skiing, golfing and spending time with friends and family.
Rebecca Brady - Kinesiologist (Coverage) BKin, CSEP-CPT
Rebecca graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in 2018, and previously worked at Momentum Health as a Kinesiologist before returning to school in 2019. Rebecca also obtained her CSEP-CPT personal training certificate during her time between degrees. Currently, Rebecca is working on her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta and will complete her studies in December 2021. She is passionate about exercise and health and enjoys mountain biking, running, snowboarding, and hiking whenever she can. Rebecca is excited to continue working with the Momentum Health team to ensure patients meet their rehabilitation goals, and to obtain more experience in the field while studying to become a physical therapist.
Brenda Capina - Office Manager
Brenda moved from Winnipeg to Calgary in the fall of 2003 where she began working in Oil & Gas in roles such as Administration, International Operations, Procurement and Management. She then moved into the Airline industry in various positions such as Call Centre - Distribution, Training and Loyalty Rewards, with the most recent as a Flight Attendant. She’s excited to be a part of this amazing team and bring her wealth of experience in Administration and Customer Service to Momentum Health.
In her spare time, Brenda is always in search of new favourite places to eat and travel. She likes to spend time outdoors with her friends, family and her dogs.
Carlie Ross - Office Administrator
Carlie was born and raised in Calgary. She has always had a passion for health and wellness and her goal is to one day go to the chiropractic college. As part of making this goal a reality, Carlie went to Mount Royal University and graduated in April of 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education, with a major in Physical Literacy. While studying at MRU, Carlie brought her delight in the sport of rock climbing to Taking Strides, an adaptive physical literacy program where volunteers encourage kids with disabilities to try activities they wouldn't normally try. Carlie is thrilled to be able to learn from her Momentum Health colleagues every day.
Teryn Coley - Office Administrator
Teryn was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta where she completed her degree from the University of Alberta in 2021, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts while majoring in Political Science and minoring in Sociology. She also completed a Certificate in International Learning through her study abroad experience in Italy. Growing up, Teryn was a competitive figure skater, fastball player, and Ukrainian dancer, and these experiences as an elite athlete led her to pursue an education in Kinesiology, before finding her true passion in political science and communications. She is still extremely passionate about health and wellness and working in chiropractic and physiotherapy clinics has given her the perfect opportunity to blend all of her skills and interests together into one, very rewarding job! In her free time, you can find her enjoying the outdoors by running, hiking, and skiing, or planning her next travel adventure!
