Shahin Pabani - Clinic Director, Physiotherapist PT, BSc.Kn, DPT
Shahin Pabani is a Physiotherapist who has been working with our company since June 2012. Originally she worked at our first clinic in Creekside and now she is working at our Mahogany location. She graduated from Pacific University in Oregon, with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and has a Bachelor of science in Kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas. Shahin has specific interest in orthopedics, clinical and program development, and would also like to promote physical activity with the youth and elderly. Not only has she been successful academically, but Shahin also played Collegiate Division 1 soccer for Stephen F. Austin for 4 years. In her spare time, Shahin enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing soccer, softball, tennis, and volunteering with various community initiatives.
Peter Tenove - Physiotherapist PT, MSc.PT, BSc.Kin
Peter Tenove graduated from University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2012. He then worked as a kinesiologist for two years before pursuing a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta. Peter has worked two years in private practice. He enjoys getting to know his patients, and takes pride in helping them return to the activities they love to do. Away from the clinic, Peter enjoys to be active by participating in hockey, snowboarding, golf, ultimate frisbee, and wakeboarding. His involvement in a variety of sports underlies his emphasis on active therapy and exercises in treatment plans. Peter has completed Level 1 Orthopaedic Division's Manual Therapy and plans to continue his post graduate training including functional dry needling.
Joel Newman - Physiotherapist PT, MSc.PT, BSc.Kin
Joel graduated from the University of Alberta’s Physical Therapy program after completing an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary. Joel has experience in a variety of different areas of practice, some of which include: elite and recreational sport injuries, motor vehicle accidents, chronic injuries, neurological rehab, and post-concussion syndrome. He has Ortho Level 1 certification and plans on continuing his education by pursuing the other orthopedic levels as well as functional dry needling courses. Outside of work, Joel likes to spend time in the outdoors and remain active by snowboarding, biking, running, hiking, and going to the gym.
Dr. Marlee Laméris - Chiropractor DC, BSc, CACCP
Dr. Marlee Lameris grew up in Red Deer and now practices in Calgary full time. She went to the University of Alberta where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree with Distinction. She then completed her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, where she graduated Cum Laude and with Clinic Honours. In addition to her training in Diversified technique, Graston and MRT at CMCC, Dr. Lameris has taken additional courses in Activator and Thompson technique. She has also completed her certification in pediatric chiropractic with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. She is ready to start creating a comfortable environment for families wishing to experience chiropractic care. She is particularly excited to work with prenatal and pediatric patients looking for a wellness approach to health.
Dr. Lameris thrives for excellence by fostering a welcoming atmosphere that allows the patient to be an active member of his or her own health. By focusing on the chiropractic adjustment, muscle techniques and patient education, Dr. Lameris is dedicated to helping people get better, feel better and live better.
Dr. Lameris has been playing soccer since she was five years old and still enjoys playing on a recreational team. She has been lucky enough in her past to volunteer as a soccer coach for youth soccer and as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada. She also enjoys reading, walking and traveling in her spare time.
Dr. Colin Johnston - Chiropractor, Acupuncture Provider BSc.Kin, DC
Dr. Johnston grew up in Calgary, graduating from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor in Kinesiology in 2012. He then relocated to Toronto where he successfully completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and received training in Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture through Canadian Memorial Canadian Chiropractic College before relocating to Calgary in 2016. Dr. Johnston uses an evidence based approach to diagnosing and treating various neuromusculoskeletal conditions of the spine and extremities. As a diversified chiropractic practitioner who utilizes a combination of spinal and extremity manipulations, various soft tissue therapy techniques, Acupuncture, and rehabilitative exercises to manage both acute and chronic injuries, helping his patients eliminate pain and become active participants in their health and well-being. A former international competitor in competitive lifeguarding, coach and lifeguard Dr. Johnston developed a passion rehab and health and wellness. As a result of his work with swimmers and personal injuries, Dr. Johnston has developed a special interest in the management of shoulder and upper body injuries. In his free time Dr. Johnston enjoys training his dog a Toller name Ronan and outdoor activities. It was the love of the outdoor that lead Dr. Johnston to return west and climb Mt. Kilimanjaro when he graduated. This has further lead into several educational talk with CORE, The Ramblers and the Calgary Alpine Club about hiking injuries and how to prevent them.
Taylor Grace Kinesiologist BSc.Kin
Taylor is graduating from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Kinesiology, in November 2017. She is planning on pursuing a Master's of Physical Therapy in the future. She believes that physical activity and health are an integral part of a long and happy life, and strives to be a part of that process. Taylor grew up as a competitive swimmer, and also enjoys running, yoga, and travelling to new places.
Emilie Boudreau - Kinesiologist BKin
Emilie Boudreau graduated from Dalhousie University with an undergraduate degree in the Bachelor of Kinesiology program in Nova Scotia. Although her interests fall within powerlifting and long-distance running, she enjoys learning about other sports and daily active living promoting fitness and health. On her days off, she loves to be outside going on hikes and hanging out with friends or planning visits to local coffee shops around the city.
Amé Nieuwoudt - Kinesiologist BSc.Kin
Amé is a recent graduate from the University of Lethbridge with an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. She rounded out a 15-year competitive swimming career with 5 years for the Pronghorns. Amé is a firm believer in living an active lifestyle but also listening to your body. She hopes to help members of the community remain as active as possible through the work that she will do with the clinic. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, hitting the gym, or finding the next best food spot!
Alexa Stevenson - Registered Massage Therapist RMT
Alexa has been an RMT since September 2017, and will be graduating with 3000 hours from Makami College in February 2018. Throughout her time in school she has learned many techniques such as Swedish massage, Therapeutic massage, Prenatal massage, Myofascial Release, Hot Stone, and more. She also has knowledge in Therapeutic Exercise, Pathology, Anatomy and Physiology, Osteology and Myology, and Orthopedic Assessment. Her goal as an RMT is to connect with, educate, and utilize her skills to the best of her ability to meet her clients' needs. She has always had a passion for physical activity and it is a big part of her life. Growing up Alexa was a competitive gymnast for 8 years, she did diving, played soccer, and she ran track. In her spare time she enjoys working out and spending time with friends and family. Alexa is so excited to be a part of the Momentum Health team and to grow as a Massage Therapist!
Nicole Couvillon - Registered Massage Therapist RMT
Nicole is a licensed RMT with a passion for helping her clients achieve relief through therapies aimed at restoring mobility. Her orthopedic background offers the tools to assist in this goal along with allowing her to create maintenance strategies for her clients to follow. Her focused pressure and blend of relaxation and therapeutic styles allow the deeper tissues to be affected while increasing the body’s responsiveness to treatment. Nicole believes that creating space within the tissues aids in battling the compression our bodies undergo on a daily basis. Dynamic Cupping is among the treatments she offers to facilitate decompression.
Matthew Fordham - Registered Massage Therapist RMT
Matt is a kind and caring therapist that will make you feel comfortable and confident in your treatment right from the start. In 2006 Matt graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with a degree in Kinesiology. That education and experience proves to be a valuable asset to his certification as a RMT. His greater understanding of anatomy, physiology and how the body works creates a unique treatment style. He is also trained in a wide variety of clinical techniques which he tailors specifically for each individual and their needs.

Shalyn Huehn - Office Administrator/Manager
Shalyn graduated from Bow Valley College with a Medical Office Assistant Certificate in 2013 and since, has been involved in many clinic aspects. Shalyn also has a background in Animal Health as she has a passion for animals.
Shalyn can empathize with Motor Vehicle Accident patients, as she is a survivor of one herself, in 2011. Since then, she has been a supporter for Stars Air Ambulance and has attended multiple fundraising events. She was in the 2012 calendar campaign, 2013 commercial campaign and also the 2015 Stars documentary; The Golden Hour. She looks forward to bringing her knowledge and her fun personality to the team and is enthusiastic about ensuring each patient receives the most optimal care.
Karla Selmer - Office Administrator
In February 2018, Karla graduated from Bow Valley College with a Medical Office Assistant Certificate. Prior to attending Bow Valley College, she spent just over 12 years working as an Educational Assistant in the Foothills School Division. Karla is passionate about helping others and believes in building positive, meaningful relationships. These values that she holds dear are what led her to a new career in healthcare. Karla is looking forward to being able to assist patients on their health care journey and is very excited to join the team at Momentum Health. In her spare time, Karla enjoys baking, walking, yoga, golf, camping and hiking with her family.
Rachel Williston - Office Administrator/Manager
Rachel is a true believer in being an advocate for every patient she comes in to contact with. She started to pursue a career in health services in Lethbridge where she studied Psychology. She then moved on to become a certified EMR and hospital unit clerk. Most recently she can be found in her spare time pursuing Nursing (RN) through distance learning at Thompson Rivers University. When not studying Rachel can be found spending her spare time at the gym, spin class, exploring Alberta or camping with her partner and pitbull. Rachel is excited to be a part of the Momentum Health team while covering a locum position.
Megan Tochor - Office Administrator
Megan graduated in April 2018 from UBC Okanagan with a Human Kinetics degree. Since then she has also completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training and is certified in Hatha yoga taught in a therapeutic style. She has a passion for movement and wellness and is excited to explore further education in the future. In her spare time you can find her teaching and practicing yoga, snowboarding, spending time hiking around in the mountains, or surfing off of Vancouver island. Megan is thrilled to be a part of the Momentum team and to help others on their path to recovery and wellness.
Lona Samadi - Office Administrator
Lona is currently studying finance at the University of Calgary. She has been working in administration for about a year now, but has many years of customer service experience. Lona is very goal oriented and works very well with others. She has a passion for learning, so that she can use her knowledge and experience to help others. Lona has lived in Calgary for almost her whole life. In her spare time, she likes to play her favourite sport, basketball. Lona has played basketball for 6 years until recently, when she had to give it up so that she could focus on her studies. She also enjoys going hiking and spending time with friends and family.
