Sara received Bachelor of Science (Biology) and Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) degrees, and then a Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Saskatchewan. Sara has worked in sports, orthopedic, surgical, and vocational rehabilitation areas and has completed post-graduate courses in performing arts physiotherapy, McKenzie lumbar spine mobilization, chronic pain, pelvic floor rehabilitation, sport first responder training, K-taping, sports therapeutic taping, functional capacity evaluations, Graston Technique, the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (CAFCI), and Level 3 Upper & Lower courses through the Orthopedic Division, Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Sara’s dance background includes certificates in Advanced Tap and Jazz Canadian Dance Teachers’ Association (CDTA), Advanced Tap and Jazz Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers (ADAPT), Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Grade 8 Award, and RAD Advanced 2. Sara then when on to complete the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) program through the RAD to receive registered teaching status, and is also designated as an Associate of the RAD and assigned the designation of a tutor for the CBTS RAD program. She is a member of the CDTA Saskatchewan Branch-Stage Division and Associate Member-Ballet and Modern Divisions. She is a certified Acrobatic Arts instructor. She is also a certified Yoga Instructor through Namaskar Yoga. Sara has taught for over 18 years in multiple dance genres and continues to freelance across Canada. Sara is honoured to be working with the Alberta Ballet Company and School of Alberta Ballet this dance season.
