Jason Douglas

Jason Douglas,
Physiotherapist, Clinic Director
PT, MSc.PT, IMS Certified

Jason graduated with his Bachelors of Physical Education in 2008 and his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2011, from the University of Alberta. He worked for the Canadian Back Institute for one year, working with patients rehabilitating from spinal injuries, chronic pain and musculoskeletal sprains/strains. Jason opened Momentum Health West Springs and has worked as clinical lead and managing Clinic Director there since 2014. As well, Jason works as a Lead Instructor for Evidence in Motion – teaching other physical therapists, chiropractors and Medical Doctors how to perform Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) – a speciality dry needling technique. Jason focuses in the treatment of sporting injuries, rotator cuff rehabilitation, whiplash, post-surgical rehab, as well as tension headaches and lower back dysfunction. Jason is also involved with high level athletics, working as the physical therapist for the Canadian National Professional Boxing welterweight champion (Steve Claggett) UFC Featherweight (Hakeem Dawodu), many of the Calgary Gymnastic Clubs Provincial and National level gymnasts, as well as mixed martial artists competitors and coaches from local gyms in Calgary. When not helping patients to rehabilitate from their injuries, Jason enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking and boxing

Amy Stober

Amy Stober,
Physiotherapist
PT, MScPT, BSc.

Amy recieved a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a minor in Strength and Conditioning from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. While attending Lindenwood, Amy was able to pursue her life long passion of hockey and played with the Lindenwood Lions in the NCAA Divsion 1. Amy then moved on to receive her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. Since graduating, Amy has recieved certification in Functional Dry Needling and completed level 2 certification of the CPA Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy, with plans of pursuing her level 3 certifications. Amy has also completed the Advanced Physical Therapy Cervico-thoraicic Certification Program from APTEI and is GLA:D Back and GLA:D Hip & Knee certified. Growing up in the small town of Hays, Alberta Amy spent much of her time playing any and all sports available. From this and her experience as a collegiate athlete, Amy has developed a passion and understanding of the importance of exercise and an active rehabilitation program. Exercise coupled with strong manual therapy and patient education is the philosophy in which she approaches all injuries with. In her free time, Amy enjoys playing hockey, skiing, hiking, ball, and spending time with family and friends.

Kaylie Wilson

Kaylie Wilson,
Physiotherapist

Kaylie graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2011 and her Master’s in Physical Therapy in 2013 from the University of Saskatchewan. Since graduating, Kaylie has gone on to pursue many post-graduate courses including her Level I and II dry needling from Kineticore, Levels I – V certifications from the CPA Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy courses, Mastering the Shoulder Levels I and II, and has become a Level 2 provider for concussion management through Shift Concussions. Kaylie is also currently working towards becoming a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy.

Kaylie is passionate about strength training and feels it is an important part of the rehabilitation process. She will customize programs to meet the needs of her patients so they become independent in managing their injuries. Though Kaylie enjoys rehabilitating all types of injuries, she has taken a special interest in concussion management, spinal injuries, and cervicogenic headache.

Outside of work Kaylie enjoys her morning runs with her very active dog, and spending time outdoors with her husband and their one-year-old son.

Briana Campbell

Briana Campbell,
Physiotherapist
PT, MSc

Briana graduated with her Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Human Kinetics and Health Science from Saint Francis Xavier (Antigonish NS) in 2017 and her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2019 from the University of Ottawa. Since graduating, Briana has completed Part A of the McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy method used to treat low back injuries as well as the K Taping Pro Therapist Training. She will also be completing Level I dry needling from Kineticore in October 2021. Briana enjoys rehabilitating all types of injuries and enjoys working on gait training in children of all ages. Briana uses a combined treatment approach that focuses manual therapy, therapeutic exercises and patient education to decrease pain and improve daily living and empower clients to meet their goals. Briana is fluent in both English and French. In her spare time, Briana enjoys baking all sorts of cookies, skating, hiking and going on outdoor adventures with her fiancé and their puppy Winston.

Susan Tsang

With over 16 years of experience, Susan has helped a multitude of patients to get back to the activities that they are passionate about – whether that's a 10 km run, ripping the mountain bike trails, the weekly squash game, or just keeping up with the kids! Susan graduated in 2006 with her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta and has been working in private practice ever since.

Susan strongly believes that she can guide you to great results with her compassion and experience. By examining the entire kinetic chain, Susan facilitates tailored rehabilitation, proper management and the prevention of future injuries. Susan has advanced training in pelvic health physiotherapy, helping to address incontinence, dyspareunia, pelvic organ prolapse, menopause, pelvic girdle pain with pregnancy and treating female athletes. Certified in dry needling/IMS, acupuncture and manual therapy, Susan values learning and is always striving to further her knowledge base and skill set.

When not in the clinic, Susan can be found playing outdoors. She is an avid downhill and cross-country skier, mountain biker and nature lover.

Tammy Kwan

Tammy Kwan,

Tammy Kwan is a physiotherapist  at Momentum Health. Tammy sold her activewear business and has returned to her physiotherapy profession after several years of raising her family and running her business. Tammy graduated from the University of Alberta and has 15 years of previous clinical orthopaedic experience. Her focus has been on manual therapy and needling to assist clients return back to their daily activities and enjoying their sports. She believes that treatment should consist of a combination of manual therapy to help clients reduce their pain and patient exercise, stretching and education.

She attained certifications for manipulations (Part B Manual Therapist), IMS (Dry Needling) and Acupuncture before her "break" from physiotherapy. She is working towards reinstating those restricted activities with the support of the great team at Momentum Health over the next year. Her strengths include helping patients progress and decrease their pain and improve body mechanics. When patients invest their time and energy with Tammy to get themselves better, she sees it as a privilege and that makes her happy.

Tammy is a Calgarian raising her four kids. She enjoys playing squash, badminton, golf and the piano. She would love to get any tips on her game (all of them) and how to deal with four teenagers. Tammy looks forward to meeting all of you.

Kora Michael

Kora completed her Bachelor of Physical Literacy at Mount Royal University (2018), where she found a passion for empowering others in their health and wellness journeys. During her undergraduate years, Kora gained experience in sport development and conditioning training through coaching with Banff Alpine (ski) Racers/Bow Valley Quickies and volunteered as an assistant coach for a high school track and field team. After working as a Kinesiologist with Momentum Health for 2 years, Kora moved to Aberdeen Scotland where she obtained her Masters of Physiotherapy at Robert Gordon University (2022). Now back in Calgary, Kora is keen to utilize her new found skills in manual therapy, exercise prescription and patient education to help her clients reach their goals and get back to the activities they love.

When not in the clinic, you can find Kora exploring the backcountry, whether skiing, rock climbing, camping, running, or skijoring.

Dr. Abdel-Rahman Aly

Dr. Abdel-Rahman Aly,

Dr. Aly received his medical degree from Ain Shams University in 2003 and completed his  specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Saskatchewan in 2014. He completed additional training in ultrasound and fluoroscopic guided interventional pain management, and successfully obtained a Registered Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography (RMSK) certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and certification for fluoroscopy guided intervention through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) in 2015.

Dr. Aly has several publications in sports medicine, radiology and PM&R journals and he is an active reviewer for multiple journals. He is an associate Clinical Professor at the University of Alberta. His practice is focused on providing Fluoroscopy and Ultrasound Guided intervention for various musculoskeletal disorders.

Dena Parker

Dena Parker,

Dena was born and raised in a small rural community in Newfoundland. Upon graduation, she moved to Fort McMurray, Alberta, and pursued a career in Project Management in the Oil and Gas Industry for 17 years. During this time frame, she developed a love for lifelong learning. She believed she had a bigger purpose and felt it was her time to give back to society. She then pursued a nursing career at Red Deer College where patient-centered care with a holistic approach became her top priority. She obtained her nursing degree in 2020 and has been working with Dr. Aly since 2021. She continues to research and further her education in the healthcare field and is privileged and passionate to play a role in the patient’s health journey.

Outside of work, Dena enjoys traveling, camping, fitness, reading, photography, and spending time with her amazing family. 

Dr. Caterina Lerede

Dr. Caterina Lerede,

Dr. Caterina Lerede was born and raised in Calgary. She obtained her degree in Cellular, Molecular and Microbial Biology from the University of Calgary and received her Doctor of Chiropractic (Cum Laude) from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2002. She has effectively treated a wide variety of patients and conditions over her 20 years in private practice, working with each patient to develop the best evidence-based and patient-centered treatment plan for them. Dr. Lerede utilizes manual and instrument-assisted adjusting techniques, myofascial release and instrument-assisted soft tissue therapies, and home exercise/ergonomic/lifestyle prescription to help patients achieve and maintain their health goals. She is GLA:D Back certified and leads small group-based education and exercise classes at the clinic that are designed to empower patients to manage/alleviate persistent or recurrent low back pain. She has a special interest in treating pregnant / postpartum women and children/adolescents. Dr. Lerede is a registered member of the Alberta College of Chiropractors and Canadian Chiropractic Association and a volunteer examiner with the Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board. She enjoys yoga, hiking, being a hockey and soccer superfan for her sons, and traveling.

Dr. Kent Stuber

Dr. Kent Stuber,

Dr. Kent Stuber has been a practicing chiropractor since 2002, and is also a clinician-scientist, publishing more than 50 papers in the peer-reviewed literature to date.  His research interests include person-centered care, sports injuries, spinal stenosis, orthopaedic testing, and pregnancy-related musculoskeletal conditions.

Dr. Stuber has a PhD from the University of South Wales with a focus in patient-centeredness and a Master of Science in Health and Social Care Research from the University of Sheffield. 

Since 2015, Dr. Stuber has been the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Canadian Chiropractic Association (JCCA).  He is also an Adjunct Professor in CMCC’s Division of Graduate Education and Research.

When he is not at work, Dr. Stuber enjoys being outdoors with his wife and sons and coaching and watching their sports teams.

Marjo de Wit-Presti

Marjo de Wit-Presti,

Marjo grew up in Southwestern Ontario and graduated from The D'Arcy Lane Institute of Massage Therapy in London Ontario in 2002. Throughout her Massage Therapy career she has worked closely with other Health Care professionals such as Physiotherapists and Chiropractors. Passionate about helping her patients achieve and maintain optimal health and well-being, she is always upgrading and adding to her massage skill set. She has provided Massage Therapy at National events such as the Canada Games, Tim Horton's Brier and for various sports teams. Marjo is a member of the MTAA and the CMTO and is looking forward to helping new patients achieve their optimal health. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family, dog and hiking in the mountains.

Joshua Chau

Joshua Chau graduated from Mount Royal University’s 2200-hour Massage Therapy program. Joshua’s holistic approach to Massage Therapy includes individualized treatment plans and homecare exercises. His treatments involve a combination of relaxation and therapeutic techniques such as trigger point therapy, deep tissue, stretching, and myofascial release techniques. He is excited to expand his skills and knowledge through the collaboration and expertise of his colleagues and continuing education.

His goal as a Massage Therapist is to inspire better living, engage patients in active rehabilitation and most importantly - to improve quality of life. Joshua believes that education and appropriate care will allow patients to be empowered to maintain and improve their overall health.

Outside of work, Joshua enjoys staying active in the gym, rock climbing, snowboarding, and spending time with his friends and family.

Jennifer Kelemen

Jennifer was born and raised in Calgary. She graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 2014 with her Bachelor’s of Science, majoring in Exercise Science. She is certified in both GLA:D Back and GLA:D hip&knee programs. Jennifer loves traveling around the world with friends and family. She also likes hiking, soccer, hockey and football as well as going on road trips. After taking time off for knee surgery in October, she joined Momentum Health in mid-February of 2015.

Nicole Smith

Nicole grew up in North Vancouver and gained a passion for sports and fitness at a very young age. This led her to the University of Alberta, where she graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology. She joined the Momentum Health team in 2019 as a kinesiologist where she enjoys treating a wide range of injuries.  Nicole has a good understanding on the importance of exercise and active rehabilitation from her experience as an athlete playing sports as well as her education and clinical experience. She has gained a special interest in ongoing injury prevention and concussion management. In her free time, Nicole loves to travel, ski/snowboard, golf, hike, and anything else that will get her outdoors. 

Alicia Merino

Alicia was born in Manitoba and moved to Calgary when she was young. Alicia played sports year round growing up, through which she was instilled with a passion for injury management and rehabilitation; this led her to the University of Lethbridge where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. Alicia worked as a Personal Trainer since moving back to Calgary in April 2022 and joined Momentum Health in November 2023.

Alicia is an avid sports fan as well as a lover of books. She can usually be found snowboarding, cycling, hiking, or reading and she enjoys spending time with friends and family. 

Alexandra Hanley

Alex hails from Newfoundland but has called Alberta home since the age of 6. With a lifelong passion for sports and fitness, she earned her Bachelor of Physical Literacy from Mount Royal University in December 2023. During her university years, Alex discovered her calling in assisting individuals on their rehabilitation journeys, focusing on enhancing their quality of life. She firmly believes in the importance of building strong client relationships and tailoring programs to meet their unique needs. With previous experience as an assistant, Alex brings valuable skills to her role at the Momentum team, where she joined in March 2024.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys unwinding with a good book, camping adventures, working out, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Melissa Cronshaw

Melissa Cronshaw,
Nutrition Therapist

Melissa Cronshaw helps patients to optimize their nutrition for health and guides patients through sustainable weight loss and the various stages of life, particularly for challenging periods like menopause. Mel is an internationally educated Nutrition Therapist, registered with CANNP in Canada, as well as a Registered Associate Nutritionist with the Association for Nutrition in the UK. She completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Nutritional Science, specializing in clinical and sport nutrition at Manchester Metropolitan University in England. After graduating, she set up a private practice in the UK where she provided 1-1 personalized nutrition programs. She also regularly delivered presentations to various groups on a range of health and wellness topics including chronic fatigue syndrome, menopause, and breast cancer nutrition. After moving back to Calgary in 2021, she continues to deliver these presentations to gyms, employers and community groups.

Vikki Small

Vikki is a highly experienced practitioner with a kind, compassionate demeanour and a holistic approach to mental health. She holds a Master of Counselling in Applied Psychology, and she has been a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists since 2007. Vikki has provided counselling support for a range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, low self-esteem, and stress/anger management. Experienced in private practice, neurorehabilitation, and education settings, Vikki maintains the highest professional and ethical standards. Evidence-based treatments are the cornerstone of client success, with applied modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Vikki also has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms (i.e., by reducing the vividness and emotion associated with trauma memories). Through a respectful, collaborative framework, Vikki helps identify treatment goals and interventions that are both client-centered and mutually established. Kristen Skoye

Kristen grew up in the small town of Black Diamond before moving to Calgary in 2016. Graduating from Bow Valley College with a Medical Office Assistant certificate in 2017,  she joined the Momentum Health team in October of that year. She is very excited to expand her career with our team, while striving to make every experience exceptional for each client. In her spare time, she enjoys watching hockey, being with friends and family, and venturing back home or into the mountains to escape the busy city.  

Devon Custus

Devon Custus,

Devon was born in Vancouver, BC, and spent a few years in Kelowna before moving to Calgary in 2005. She studied Music and Education at the University of Calgary, and worked as a teacher before pursuing a career as an administrator. In her spare time, Devon enjoys reading, playing the saxophone, knitting, baking, and ice skating. She is passionate about helping others and is excited to be a part of the dynamic team at Momentum Health.

Hailey Hobbs

Hailey Hobbs,

Hailey was born and raised in Edmonton until moving to Airdrie where she currently resides. She has always had a passion for sports and for helping people feel their best. She is recently retired from Women’s Junior hockey and is currently playing in a Women’s league. On her days off you can find her in the mountains hiking, spending time with her friends & family or camping in the beautiful Alberta wilderness. Hailey has always had an interest in kinesiology and is hoping to enter the field herself some time soon. She is very excited to be a part of each clients path to feeling their absolute best!

Regina Shakirova

Regina Shakirova,

Regina moved to Canada at age 13 from Russia, and has lived in Calgary ever since. She has lived in the area for 15 years and can often be found biking to Springbank. She loves volunteering for various music events throughout the city. She loves spending time outdoors, going for walks and painting
