Dr. Brad Fujimoto - Chiropractor, Clinic Director

Dr. Brad Fujimoto grew up in the quaint town of Fernie British Columbia.  After high school he then pursued further education at the University of Lethbridge where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree.  Dr. Brad then ventured to Toronto where he studied at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and received his Doctor of Chiropractic in 2005.  After graduating, Dr. Brad came to Calgary and practiced with Advantage Health and Symon's Valley Chiropractic for several years before joining the Momentum Health team.  Dr. Brad is passionate about the health and wellbeing of his patients and takes the time to educate them of their ailments.  He has many tools that he encompasses in his practice such as medical acupuncture, nutritional counselling, soft tissue therapy and many other modalities that will bring his patients back to optimal health. Dr. Brad is a registered member of the Alberta College of Chiropractors and the Canadian Chiropractic Association.  Dr. Brad welcomes new patients and former patients alike and is looking forward to helping his patients feel their best.

Lee Sawka - Physiotherapist (currently on maternity leave)

Lee graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Physical Therapy degree in 2006.  She was a physiotherapist with the Calgary Police Service and the Canadian Back Institute for five years before she worked in Montreal at International Headquarters with Cirque Du Soleil. She is currently a Research Clinician at the University of Calgary with the Kinesiology Department's study for concussion management in hockey players and a previous study on injury prevention in soccer players. It has always been important for Lee to remain educated in the latest information and techniques related to providing superior therapy.  She is certified in acupuncture with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada and Gunn IMS (Intramuscular Stimulation).  She is also certified in spinal and peripheral manipulation and completed her orthopaedic level 2 upper and lower quadrant training in manual therapy. In her spare time, Lee enjoys downhill and cross country mountain biking, running, soccer, golfing, snowboarding and reading. 

Shahin Pabani - Physiotherapist, DPT

Shahin Pabani is a Physiotherapist who has been working at the Creekside location since June 2012. She graduated from Pacific University in Oregon, with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and has a Bachelor of science in Kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas. Shahin has specific interest in general orthopedics and would also like to promote physical activity with the youth and elderly. Not only has she been successful academically, but Shahin also played Collegiate Division 1 soccer for Stephen F. Austin for 4 years. In her spare time, Shahin enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing soccer and tennis, and volunteering with the Health Board in the Ismaili community.

Dan Matchullis - Physiotherapist

Dan graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Master of Physical Therapy degree after completing his undergrad in Biochemistry at the University of Winnipeg. He got involved in physiotherapy originally by volunteering for an acquired brain injury rehabilitation unit in Winnipeg, and has been interested in helping patients reach their full potential ever since. His current professional interests include orthopedics, sports medicine and research opportunities. Dan has always been interested in continuing education and is working through his manual therapy levels with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s Orthopedic Division. In his spare time, Dan takes to the outdoors to camp, canoe, backpack and downhill ski. 

Kirstyn Cahoon Richards, MSc.PT, BKin - Physiotherapist (Pelvic Health, Pediatrics & Orthopaedics)

Kirstyn moved to Calgary in 2008 to pursue an education in Kinesiology and Physiotherapy.  She graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelors in Kinesiology in 2012 and from the University of Alberta in 2014 with a Masters in Physical Therapy. For the last six years, Kirstyn has worked in the rehabilitation field and is interested in treating all ages and forms of injury.  After her Masters, she became specialized in treating pelvic health disorders and pediatric patients. Her experience includes working with children in a hospital and school setting, treating all ages of orthopedic and neurological patients as well as treating pelvic health patients.

Alexa Starratt - Physiotherapist

Alexa studied Human Kinetics at St.Francis Xavier University, NS, and later graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2014, with her Masters in Physiotherapy. Prior to qualifying as a Physiotherapist, Alexa has previous experience working as a Kinesiologist within private practice, working as an Athletic Therapist for varsity teams during her undergrad degree and for a variety of teams within the community in Halifax. Alexa has special interests in general orthopedics, postural conditions and athletes. She is keen to continue improving her practice and continuing education. Alexa is certified in Kinesiotaping, ergonomic assessments and orthotic fittings. She is currently enrolled with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada and is planning to work through her manual therapy levels with the Canadian Association's Orthopedic Division. In her spare time, Alexa enjoys yoga, hiking, exercising, snowshoeing, skiing and making the most of the nearby mountains.

Kimberley Brydges - Physiotherapist

Kimberley graduated from the University of Alberta in 2012 with a Bachelors in Kinesiology, and in 2014 with a Masters in Physical Therapy. She has since had experience working abroad as a Physiotherapist in Australia. Kimberley has been working in the rehabilitation field for the past 5 years, and has a special interest in treating general orthopedic and sport-related injuries. To further her knowledge and skills as a physiotherapist, Kimberley has also completed further training in Orthopedic Manual Therapy, Dry Needling, and is certified in acupuncture with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada. Outside of academics, Kimberley competed in the FIS circuit for alpine skiing, where she eventually went on to coach. While coaching, she had the opportunity to work with young athletes to develop appropriate pre-season training plans to ensure optimum return to sport from the off-season, and prevent any injuries that may stem from musculoskeletal imbalances. In her spare time, she still enjoys downhill skiing, as well as cross country skiing, hiking, biking, running, and pretty much anything outdoors!

 

Alison Taylor - Coverage Physiotherapist

Alison is originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia. She received her undergraduate degree in neuroscience from Dalhousie university and followed that up with her Master’s of science in physiotherapy also at Dalhousie university. Alison has completed many post graduate courses including specialized running injury courses, shoulder courses, and manual therapy courses. Alison has also completed her Kinetacore Functional Dry Needling - Level 1 to help relieve pain and restore function.  Alison has a passion for working with endurance athletes of any kind whether it be runners, swimmers, cyclists etc. Soft tissue injuries, repetitive strain injuries, and sports therapy are some of her specialties. Outside of work Alison is an avid runner herself and has completed 8 half marathons to date, most recently the Calgary half marathon in May! In the community She runs a youth running club at the local YMCA, has volunteered with the Alberta ballet, and volunteers at any sporting event possible.

Alison will always strive to get the best results with her patients and is fully committed to returning her patients to a pain free and happy state!

Dr. Scott Nicol - Chiropractor

Dr. Scott Nicol was raised in Kelowna, BC and moved to Calgary after high school to obtain his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary.  During that time, Scott had the privilege of competing as a varsity Track and Field middle distance runner where he won numerous CIS medals, set a school record and was the team captain for his final three years.  Dr. Nicol then moved to Portland, OR where he graduated from the University of Western States with his Doctor of Chiropractic degree as well as his Masters of Science in Exercise and Sports Science.  Dr. Nicol uses an evidence-based, diversified approach to care that includes a number of different techniques to aid his patients.  Along with manual therapy, he uses Graston, Activator methods, numerous modalities and is full body certified in Active Release Technique (ART®).  Dr. Nicol has a keen interest in working with all individuals struggling with pain or dysfunction and is eager to provide long-lasting relief, helping all his patients reach optimal health.

Carla Hampshire - Registered Massage Therapist

Carla Hampshire has been a registered massage therapist and reflexologist since 2002. She is a member of the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada Association (NHPCA) and is recognized as a 2200 hour practitioner, a qualification generally required by insurance providers. She offers therapeutic, relaxation, prenatal and sports massage. She helps relieve a variety of conditions such as: sciatica, whiplash, chronic muscle tension, and TMJ dysfunction. Carla enjoys working with clients of all ages. She is also a certified personal trainer, holistic nutritionist and a professional bodybuilder. She is married, has 6 children and 4 grandchildren. Carla is the author of Healthy Body for Life - A Guide for Women Over Forty which is available on Amazon and right here at the clinic. 

Sarah Bowland - Registered Massage Therapist

After finishing her bachelor degree in Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University, Sarah Bowland decided to return to school for massage therapy at the Professional Institute of Massage Therapy. During her training, Sarah learned many different techniques such as Swedish massage, myo-fascial release, relaxation massage and pre-natal massage. Sarah has completed two levels of Cranio-Sacral Therapy and has plans to go further into exploring this exciting modality. She has done workshops in Rain Drop therapy as well. She loves cold weather, crocheting and dogs.

Christina Ergang - Registered Massage Therapist

Christina Ergang is from Calgary Alberta. She has been working as a massage therapist for ten years and continues to love her profession.  Christina graduated from Foothills College of Massage Therapy in 2004 after completing a 2200 hour advanced massage therapy course.  Christina is a member in good standing with the Natural Health practitioners of Canada Association and has been since 2003.  She specializes in therapeutic and relaxation massage and incorporates cranial sacral, myofascial, shiatsu, and reflexology techniques into her treatments which she has learned from different work shops. Christina is certified in contemporary cupping, advanced cupping, and cupping for sinus problems through the International cupping therapy association. In her spare time, she enjoys bike riding and martial arts.

Jocelyn Walker - Registered Massage Therapist

Jocelyn graduated from Mount Royal University June of 2014 with her 2200 hour Massage Therapy Diploma. Jocelyn has always taken an interest in the health and wellness industry. She enjoys meeting new people, hiking, biking, reading, travel, learning new things and spending time with family. 

Sarah Bischke - Registered Massage Therapist

Sarah Bischke has been practicing Massage Therapy since 2002. Originally from BC, she moved out to Calgary to work as a Physiotherapy Assistant and went on to complete the 2200 
hour Massage Therapy program at Foothills College of Massage Therapy in 2002. Sarah is a member in good standing with the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada(NHPC). She 
specializes in a variety of massage therapy styles and techniques including therapeutic, 
relaxation, pre & post natal, myofascial release and sports massage. Sarah has worked with the team at Momentum Health for many years and values the multidisciplinary approach they offer. She enjoys yoga, running, strength training and hiking & camping with her husband and two young children.

Lori Roy - Registered Massage Therapist

Lori Roy is a registered Massage Therapist who was born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick. Lori graduated from a 2200 hour massage therapy course and is a member of the Massage Therapy Association of Alberta. Lori has over 10 years experience in treating all ranges of clients with a focus in deep tissue.  She is competent in all Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release and specializes in Trigger point therapy and treating everyday aches and pains, from headaches to overall muscular tension and stress. Outside of work, Lori enjoys spending time outdoors, walking, biking, gardening and traveling.

Jenna Greenough - Registered Massage Therapist

Jenna attended St. Francis Xavier University, where she obtained a degree in Kinesiology. Following that, she attended The Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She moved to Calgary to further pursue her career as a Massage Therapist. She is a member in good standing with the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada. Outside of work she enjoys spending time outdoors, spending time with friends and family, reading and traveling.

Jessica Magnussen - Kinesiologist

Jessica graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 2013 with her Bachelors of Science degree, majoring in Kinesiology, and has been working in private practice since graduation. During her time at the University of Lethbridge she worked with the Varsity Women's Rugby and Hockey teams as a Student Therapist. Jessica believes in a holistic approach to health and is always learning new manual therapy techniques that will benefit the overall treatment plan for her patients. Jessica is currently studying to become a holistic nutritionist, and enjoys discussion nutrition with her patients. 
Jessica enjoys spending time outdoors camping, hiking and cross country skiing. She also enjoys staying active through running, yoga and volunteering as a disabled ski instructor.

Ankit Patel - Kinesiologist

Ankit graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, and after graduating moved to Canada in 2011 for further studies. Ankit got his Fitness and Health promotion degree from Loyalist College in Belleville, ON in 2013. After graduating, he moved out west starting from Winnipeg, and then came to Calgary to work as a Kinesiologist. After working two years with Advantage Health, he joined Momentum Health’s Creekside location. Ankit also holds Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology – CPT certification, and works as a trainer as well. His main goal is to keep everyone active and sickness free with pre-habilitation. 

Victoria McArthur, Kinesiologist

Victoria is a recent graduate from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. Victoria's personal experience as a student athlete has steered her interest towards athletics, specifically adolescent athletes. Through this she has developed a passion to help others through holistic methods. In her spare time she is a therapist for Calgary quadrant hockey teams, promoting healthy play, nutrition, and exercise to elite youth athletes. She aspires to be a Doctor of Chiropractic, specializing in Sport Medicine. Victoria enjoys outdoor activities such as downhill skiing, mountain biking, hiking, and snow shoeing. 

Dr. Katie Coombs, ND - Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Katie believes that naturopathic medicine brings together the worlds of conventional medicine and the power of nature.  After completing her undergraduate degree in Biology at Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops, her passion eventually led her to Vancouver to study Naturopathic Medicine; a medicine that blends evidence-based science with natural forms of medicine to deliver health care. Dr. Katie then received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in Vancouver, BC.Dr. Katie is licensed through College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta (CNDA) and College of Naturopathic Physicians in British Columbia (CNPBC) and is a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). As a naturopathic doctor, Dr. Katie is trained in diagnostic testing, physical exams, botanical medicine, pharmacology, homeopathy, nutrition and orthomolecular medicine, spinal manipulations and Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is also board certified in heavy metal chelation, advanced IV therapies, acupuncture, minor surgery, and also practices craniosacral therapy. Dr. Jessica Fujimoto, ND - Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Jessica completed a four-year undergraduate program in Anatomy and Cell biology from the University of Saskatchewan in 2003, and studying the human body in great depth furthered her desire to pursue a career in healthcare. She graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto in 2007 and moved to Calgary where she started working in multi-disciplinary clinics. She has been a member of the AANP (Alberta Association of Naturopathic Practitioners) now known as the CNDA (College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta) and the CAND (Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors) since December 2007. She has completed additional post-graduate training in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, and will be completing her Prolotherapy training in the fall of 2014.Dr. Jessica has a special interest in the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine, using acupuncture and Chinese herbs, but also utilizes her training in botanical medicine, orthomolecular medicine and nutrition to help reach health goals.Her general practice focuses on ailments such as sleep disturbances, digestive concerns, food allergies/sensitivities, seasonal allergies, depression, anxiety, weight management and stress.

Peggy Tham - Office Manager

Peggy Tham grew up in Sudbury, Ontario. After finishing school in Ontario and graduating from the Hotel and Restaurant Management Program, she moved to Banff to work at the Banff Springs Hotel and then later moving to Calgary.  With many years of experience in customer service and administration, Peggy joined the Creekside team in 2010 and is the Office Manager for our Creekside Clinic.  

Obi Mezue - Office Administrator

Obi came to Momentum Health Creekside in July 2014 having changed professional paths after moving from Nigeria to Calgary in 2009. She has worked in a variety of fields, which had given her the experience to serve others with compassion and understanding. Obi enjoys taking long walks and reading.

Christine Jennings - Office Administrator

Christine moved to Calgary in January 2015 from Hamilton, Ontario. In 2009 she graduated from Brock University with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with Honours. In the summer of 2008 she travelled with a team to Japan as an intern with Global Youth Network to focus on human trafficking and did a photo exposition, as well as lectured at the Guelph University on the topic. Recently, she has changed focus and will be returning to school in the health care field. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, yoga and drawing/painting. Having many years of customer service in various fields, she joined Momentum Health Creekside in mid-February of 2015.

Brittany Thanasack - Office Administrator

Brittany was born and raised in Calgary. She graduated from Bow Valley College with a Medical Office Assistant Certificate. Brittany enjoys working in the medical field and providing optimal care and customer service. She has a passion for fitness and training. When she is not at the gym, Brittany enjoys playing basketball and going on hikes.

Tijana Ljuboja- Office Administrator

Tijana moved to Canada from Belgrade, Serbia in 2015. She graduated with a Bachelor degree in economics from the University of Belgrade. While in Europe she worked as an accountant in Serbia and had training in Germany. Tijana came to Canada looking for new opportunities to add to her extensive background and is excited to become part of the Momentum Health Team.
